      <p><br>tehran, march 8 (mehr news agency) –- the persian gulfwhich was a region with high volume of imports,experiencing trade balance deficit in recent years, isgoing to change one of the most celebrated export<br>centers of the world in coming years due to the highvolume of nvestment which has been made in thisregion in this region.&nbsp; <br><br>
      <p>according to the mehr news agency, the directorgeneral of the islamic republic of iran shipping lines(irisl), valiollah afkhami said that considering therich energy resources of the region as well as the<br>current trend of investment in progress in theregional countries, the persian gulf will beundoubtedly one of the export poles of the world in<br>future. <br>pointing to the volume of investment embodied in oil,gas and petrochemical projects in the persian gulf,afkhami said that it is expected that with the currentvolume of investment, stronger marine transportationfleet will be required since the density of marine<br>traffic will be increased in the persian gulf inregion due to high practice of transportation industryfor further exports. <br>he went on to say that most countries of this regionsuch as saudi rabia, qatar, and iran have made greatinvestments in petrochemical projects with highpotential for further growth. <br>he said that hot markets exist for petrochemicalproducts in far east, india, some european countriesas well as south america and africa, adding that ifiran penetrates in such markets high revenue will be<br>fetched for the country through this industry.<br>he stressed that the export objectives in differentsectors in particular in petrochemical sector willhardly be achieved unless further heed is paid to themarine fleet’s development and improvement. <br>he highlighted that for short distancetransportations, rail or road fleets are applicableespecially when the target market is next to the<br>country.&nbsp; <br>however, whenever the export between continents inconsideration, the marine transportation best suitsthe issue, he added. <br>therefore it is obvious iran’s marine fleet will havea much narrower role in the country’s transportationindustry, he concluded.<br><br>
